Re:Reboot, Reuse, Recycle

This a comment on theremustbesomethinginthewater’s blog.

Yes, I agree that it is not surprising when the movie industry comes out with a remake of an old movie, but why is it such a bad thing? I mean can you blame them? The media industry has evolved so much in the past few years. There are so many different forms of animation and special effects. No wonder they want to put a movie back out there to try again. The idea is already there. That will not only save them money, but it will save them time. After all, “time is money.”

The first versions might have sucked and they might have flopped, so you would think, Why would they try to remake it? If the idea is there and you have the money to do it and do it well, then why not try. I mean it’s better then writing another predictable chick-flick. I don’t mind going to see remakes at all. I mean compare and contrast the two films below. Clearly you can see why the first one flopped. However the idea is there and the remake is well done. Clearly they had better equipment and special effects to make this film ten times better.
